Papier
Masson Ltée employs about 270 people to produce high-quality
newsprint. Over the years, its employees have developed many skills
that are essential for modern production, including their knowledge
in the sciences and in automated processes. Bringing with them an
openness to new ideas and aware of the economic and environmental
issues, our employees can count on receiving ongoing professional

Since
it was founded in 1998, Paper Masson Ltée has received a
number of prizes in recognition of its modern management style that
respects the individual. These include a 2002 nomination as one
of the top 35 employers in Quebec by Affaires+ magazine and the
firm Watson Wyatt, the “Global Support” award, the “Union Support”
award, and bronze, silver, and gold awards from United Way Outaouais,
the “Prize for Excellence in the Organization Category” awarded
in 2001 as part of the Industrial Relations Colloquium at Université
du Québec en Outaouais (www. uqo.ca). This was a great
achievement, the fruit of the joint effort by Papier Masson Ltée
and Local 112 of the Communications,
Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada (C.E.P.U.C.) (www.cep.ca),
which represents the majority of the workers at the mill. (Office
employees are represented by C.E.P.U.C. Local 1104.)
The
Human Resources Department at Papier Masson Ltée is made
up mainly of members of the Quebec
Order of Human Resources and Industrial Relations Consultants (O.R.H.R.I.)
(www.rhri.org). These managers are governed by the Order's rules
of good conduct and professional competence as well as its code
of ethics.
