Mission
Continuously provide the paper machine with sufficient quantities
of pulp that meet the quality standards of the industry at
competitive costs while respecting the regulations governing
safety and environmental standards.
Description
Our new thermo-mechanical pulping (TMP) plant uses a single
series of Sunds CD-82 two-stage refiners and related equipment
that are capable of producing, at full capacity, 740 tonnes
of bone dry pulp per day. The wood chips from nearby sawmills
are delivered by truck and divided into two piles of low-density
and high-density chips. The wood chips are then reclaimed,
screened, heated and washed prior to being conveyed into
the impregnation vessel for final soaking before moving on
to the refining stage. The saturated wood chips are then
heated and discharged into the primary and secondary refiners.
The refined pulp is screened, thickened and stored in a high-density
tower, from where it is pumped to the paper machine. The
dirty steam generated by the refining process goes through
a heat recovery process, where it is reused for producing
the clean steam used by the paper machine dryers.
